After searching through YouTube for songs which give the lyrics with meaningful words which will allow us to do a narrative music video, Emma and myself have come up with 3 possible song choices we want to look further into.
Our first song choice is Gary Go-Open Arms.
We found this after searching for a while and thinking that we needed a artist who was not well known but produced a song which fit in the genre. The video consisted of memories from a younger childhood of wanting to be a astronaut, and then him growing and changing as a person, and reaching his dream goal and job ambition. The narrative story goes through his life experiences, going to mars etc. The camera movement and effects consists of close ups, showing emotions and feelings in the facial area, as well as special effects like fire, space and the moon. The lyrics relate to the music video with words like "I’ve gotta take these chances where they are, And it’s gonna be alright, I’ve gotta see things for what they are, At the time, at the time."

The second song we found was Alex Lloyd-What We Started.
We found that this was a powerful lyrical song with ability for a narrative video. The video did not relate to the lyrics but the effects were good. The whole video was modified to be in black and white, and the video was also narrative, as there was no one singing but just acting a scenario. Some of the lyrics include "When the light starts to shine, If I am yours and you are mine, And when the bell starts to ring And the truth begins to sing" which tells a story, but this does not show in the video. The video includes a average man in a coffee shop sketching a woman outside dressed as a pirate. This is very unique and intriguing but confusing as I felt that this should relate to the lyrics.

The fourth and final song we looked at was One Republic-Mercy.
The video consisted of the group of 4 men playing their music and instruments on a sandy beach. The effects of the video have been made so that the video is neither black or white or sepia, but a mix of both, as well as the modifications being made to the brightness and contrast to give it a unique look to the video. The video is not very narrative as a story is not easily made, and the lyrics state "All I wanted to say, All I wanted to do, Is fall apart now, All I wanted to feel, I wanted to love, It's all my fault now, A Tragedy for sure" which does not relate at all to the music video.
