1. Chris Brown-Yeah 3x
2. Eminem-When I'm Gone
3. Adele-Someone Like You
4. Bruno Mars-Lazy Song
5. NickleBack-Rockstar

Chris Brown-Yeah 3x

To view the video of "Chris Brown-Yeah 3x" click HERE.
The first artist I have chosen to write about is Chris Brown, who sung and done a music video to Yeah 3x. (Yeah three times) The video is a electro-pop dance genre type of music which relates to a broad target audience. The video is shot in a neighborhood surrounded by many people and dancers on the street. It has been said that although Chris Brown has had many problems recently but this song is a comeback and has raised popular responses in return. On the official music video placed on YouTube, the video has had over 50,242,093 views which goes to show just how successful Chris Brown himself is doing!!!

Chris Brown himself wrote a statement about his single, Yeah 3x:
"[Yeah 3x] was brought to me by DJ Frank E and I was just in the studio writing for other artists and myself. I heard the track and I was like man this is incredible ... it kind of gave me the Forever feeling so I wanted to do more of a song for my pop audience. I've been doing a lot of mix-tape stuff, a lot of urban records... the pop audience didn't really have anything to gauge from so I really wanted to give them this and I feel like Yeah 3x is something different, something new and it's just [a] positive record. It's not anything too over the top; it's just right where it needs to be."

Eminem-When I'm Gone

Eminem's song of "When I'm Gone" was written in 2003 and released in 2005, and the wrapper wrote about how fame got in the way with his family and caused so many problems between him and his wife and children. All the lyrics play along with the video and has actual meaning rather than writing a song about something that is not important or has no meaning. Looking on the official video on YouTube, there is over 76,596,635 views proving how well this video has done and that the viewers can show his meaningful power of the lyrics.

Eminem describes the "When I'm Gone" as:
"The whole song seems to revolves around Slim Shady and his actions. His fame took over Eminem’s life and he was tired of it and missed too much of his daughters life that he didn’t want to miss any more of it."

Adele-Someone Like You

To view the video of "Adele-Someone Like You" click HERE.
Adele has used her performance from the "Brit Awards" in 2011 to create her music video "Someone Like you." The performance showed her true colours as she sung the song amazingly with nothing but a piano beside her. I adore this song for the fact that she is expressing her true feelings and emotions that she is going through in her life, and showing the depressing and upsetting moments, and not just hiding them away or pretending that every-thing's fine when it is not. The fact that she writes about this and sings the song in front of a huge audience which was broadcasted everywhere gives me lots of respect for herself. Referring to You Tube, the video has got over 19,639,999 views on the video of the performance.

She describes the song and lyrics:
"We were so intense I thought we would get married. But that was something he never wanted ...So when I found out he does want that with someone else, it was just the horrible-est feeling ever. But after I wrote it, I felt more at peace. It set me free ..." She announced this was song was written due to her ex that she thought she'd marry breaking up after 18 month relationship t find he is engaged to someone else.

Bruno Mars-Lazy Song

To view the video of "Bruno Mars-The Lazy Song" click HERE.
Bruno Mars released a song in 2011 and has all elements in POP and R&B, Hawaiian and Jawaiian. I like this music video as I like how the artist has not gone to a specific set or performance, but in a home with a few friends or colleagues dressed in gorilla masks. The video is simple and is directed by himself. This shows that he does not have to create a practical and expensive video to get viewers people to buy or listen to the record. Looking at YouTube, there is over 106,963,780 views, showing just how successful he is, and how popular the song is, even if it was recorded in the same room.

NickleBack-Rockstar

To view the video of "NickleBack-Rockstar" click HERE.
The final music video I have chosen to be in my top 5 is Nickleback. Although I do not really listen to that genre of music, I found this video to be unique and different to the rest of the music videos in the mass market. The video itself was released in 2006 and impacted on the genre of Rock and Country Rock. The music video itself is completely different to others as NickleBack decided to use both celebrities and non to star in the video, lip-syncing the lyrics. The people used within the video age ranges from children and teenagers to elderly citizens. The video relates to the lyrics and music by "We all just wanna be big rockstars" meaning everyone dreams to be rich and famous, sharing the dream. Looking at YouTube, I can see that on Official Video, there has been over 35,359,828 views.

About MTV

MTV, formally known as Music Television was brought to the screens in New York City in the year of 1981. Its first and main priority was to share different genres of music videos to viewers. MTV has had many slogans alike "I want my MTV" during 1982 and 1985 to influence the popularity of the channel to all different generations of viewers, but especially the younger generation. MTV went through many milestones before 2011, including the companies 20th anniversary in 2001 and the 25th anniversary in 2006. For the 25th anniversary, MTV decided that they would allow viewers to watch the first 1 hour of MTV created, including videos from artists like The Buggles, Pat Benatar, Rod Stewart.

MTV's pop culture spread from only households in New Jersey to many different places like Europe, Asia and Latin America. By the time of 1980, MTV transformed from not only music videos but reality series like "The Real World" and by 1992, other programs were introduced like The Osbournes, My Super Sweet 16 and The Hills.
